Chukku Kappi, also referred to as Sukku Malli Coffee, is a natural herbal coffee powder primarily made from dry ginger (chukku), coffee, and a selection of aromatic spices such as black pepper, cardamom (elakkai), cumin (jeera), long pepper (thippali), coriander (mali), and holy basil (thulasi). Palm jaggery is often added as a natural sweetener, giving the beverage a rich, earthy flavor.
It is widely consumed in Kerala and Tamil Nadu as a traditional warming drink, especially during cold mornings or for relieving cold, cough, and digestive discomfort.
